I’ve eaten at Banana Leaf several times over my lifetime ordering all a miscellany of Asian dishes. But the one item on the menu I always long for is the Roti Canai with Curry Sauce. Utterly awesome!

During my weekend trip to Thailand from August 26-29, I did not have much of an agenda. Actually I did not have any agenda. When I arrived at Kent’s hotel room on the evening of Friday, August 26, he asked me “so where are we going?” I told him I didn’t have any plans at that point in time. I love Chinese Food. Its one of those types of cooking which is always “safe” and you always know what to expect. When “The Backpack Boy” Jasper Jugan invited me to lunch, he suggested “Crystal Jade” in Greenhills. I had never heard of the place before and what came to mind with the name like Crystal Jade, alongside every stereotypical Chinese restaurant with the words, Golden… Lucky… Dragon… etc. in it was the type of old-style Chinese restaurant where you would see all of these old people celebrating a 50th Wedding Anniversary. Thankfully… this was not one of “those” kind of places.
