R.O.C. (Restaurant of Choice), U.P., Quezon City
I often eat at this cozy restaurant called Chocolate Kiss Café at the Bahay ng Alumni inside the U.P. Diliman Campus. It is one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants with the best comfort food and desserts. Then a friend of mine commented that I should try the “other” restaurant at Bahay ng Alumni. A place called, R.O.C.
Located on the ground floor, it is on the “left” side of Bahay ng Alumni if you enter in front.

Hmmm… Interesting, and daring, name “Restaurant of Choice”

Décor-wise, the place is very very cozy. When inside you wouldn’t think you were inside the UP Campus.

The menu had a lot of simple classics. Nothing too out of this world. For appetizers, I ordered some basic french fries. This was a tad disappointing as they look like the frozen-supermarket variety… not home made. But is was good nonetheless.

I ordered this Garlic Chicken dish with Garlic Rice. (It had one of the specialty symbols next to it on the menu… I’m always a sucker for those). P 185
This was a very tasty dish!

Val ordered the Country Fried Steak P 195

And Oscar ordered Crispy Binagoongan P 194. It seemed more like Lechin Kawali with a side of Bagoong as the Bagoong was not coating the pork. (and actually the menu did say “Lechon kawali with bagoong siding.” It looked so good nonetheless. I had one of those “sana yan ang inorder ko” moments… you know what I mean.

We had a great meal. We topped it off with a slice of Brazo de Mercedes each. P75 I had forgotten to take pictures at this point.
All in all… good food, nice ambience. I still love Chocolate Kiss, but ROC is now on my list of “must eat at” restos. Highly Recommended!
