Paoay Church, Ilocos Norte-Jan 29, 2010
I was invited to Laoag by the faculty of the Computer Science department of the Mariano Marcos State University to give a career talk to their IT Students at the start of this year. I had arrived the night before and my hosts booked me in a quaint little hotel called Casa Doña Emilia, Paoay which was located right around the square where the famous Paoay Church was located.
During my first trip to Laoag around three years earlier, I was able to visit the church, but this time I get to take pictures at dawn.

I woke up around 5:30am, bathed and dressed and had an early breakfast, I then ventured off into the streets of Paoay. The streets were deserted at around 6:30am. I made my way to the church to catch it in the dawn light.

Paoay Church is also known as St. Agustine Church built around 1593. It is currently part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. How do I know this? it says so down here…

And there she stood…
