Pino Restaurant, Quezon City

I tried this new restaurant in Quezon City which is just near the Bayan office. Located along Malingap Street near Mahiyain Street, the restaurant’s name is Pino. (Note: The Bayan office is at the corner of Maginhawa and Malingap if you need a landmark. You then drive on Malingap away from Maginhawa).
It’s quite nice, clean, and Zen in design. I particularly like that wall.
Between the two of us, we ordered 3 things. Angie ordered Spicy Tuyo Pesto Pasta.
I ordered Tempura Oysters and Pearls. Fried Oysters in wasabi tempura batter… yum!
A small word on the Oysters. It comes in a plate of 12. And while it was delicious for the first 3-4 pieces. This being a battered dish can become filling especially if you are just 2-3 people.
…and for my main dish, Kare-Kareng Bagnet. It is to die for!
If you find yourself in Quezon City, give Pino a try. It’s a nice place. Seemed out of place though for a restuarant of this quality. But I hear it get’s crowded during the evenings.

UPDATE: (June 2, 2010)
Went back to Pino with my officemates for lunch.
We got to the place at around 12:45pm. Granted it is an awkward time to go there. The place was packed when we got there and had 1 vacant table. The whole experience was a little disappointing because they seemed understaffed. They seemed to have 1 less waiter from the previous week. No telling how many people where in the kitchen because we had to wait literally 45 min for our food to arrive.
Now while that may be enough to put a damper on the whole meal. The food was nonetheless fantastic! My takaw-mata officemates were about to order a whole lot of food. We ended up getting three different meals which we would just share with one another.
(something-somethino) Fried Hito. Ok, I forgot the name on the menu. This was really good. Soft in the inside, crispy on the outside.
And once again, Kare-Kareng Bagnet. Was so hungry, it was out of focus.

Came back for lunch again! This time I ordered different stuff…
Pino always has nice Iced Tea. Not your usual commercial Nestea or Lipton.
Ordered Tofu stuffed with Cheese for an appetizer
Beef Salpicao… yum!!! I recommend this!
Chicken Breast stuffed with bacon and cheese.
