Where do I want to go today?

Cagayan de Oro… “White Water Rafting” (Day 3, Part 2) – August 1, 2009

We waited for Erick to pick us up from the hotel around 12:00nn. We were already packed for our 6:10pm flight back to Manila. In between, Erick scheduled a White Water Rafting stint between 1-4pm. That was putting it real tight.

We met up with our guides at SM Cagayan de Oro. Our main guide’s name was “Tweet-Tweet” with First Rafting Adventure… He was actually our guide during my first White Water Rafting trip months earlier. This time we were going for the advanced course. I never asked of “Tweet-Tweet” had a Twitter account.

Here I am at the starting point. I would have loved to have gotten on the raft and slid down to the water below!

Ok… we’re ready!

The rains from the previous night contributed to the quantity and strength of the water!

Here we go!

While taking the video of the rapids, a wall of water made me drop my camera (which was hanging around my neck) while I took hold of my oar. While the video is odd… the audio helps highlight with the “drama” of the moment.

That’s Tweet Tweet behind me. He was whistling some annoying tune the whole time.

During a 1km calm area, I jumped into the water. Something I missed doing the last time. I went with the flow with raft.

After a while, I was helped back unto the boat.

The whole trip took around 2 hours 30 min or so. A little longer than the basic course. We were able to get to the end, take a shower, change clothes and get to the airport in plenty of time.

Back to Manila!

That’s the end to 3 days of fun and exciting adventure… with sea sickness thrown in.
